Sarrera

The Rain Bird DASASVF100 Professional Grade Anti-Siphon Valve with Flow Control is designed for above-ground irrigation systems. This 1-inch threaded female x female valve helps prevent backflow and allows for precise flow adjustment to optimize sprinkler performance and water conservation. It is compatible with any standard 24-volt AC irrigation timer/controller.

Konfigurazioa eta Instalazioa

Proper installation is crucial for the effective operation and backflow prevention of your Rain Bird Anti-Siphon Valve. This valve is designed for above-ground installation only.

  1. Lekua: Install the valve at least 6 inches (15 cm) above the highest sprinkler head on the valve line. This ensures proper anti-siphon function and prevents backflow into your main water supply.
  2. Avoid Downstream Valves: Never install another valve further down the line from the main anti-siphon valve.
  3. Konexioa: The valve features 1-inch female pipe thread (FPT) inlet and outlet connections. Ensure secure and watertight connections to your irrigation piping.
  4. Kableatua: Connect the valve's solenoid to your 24-volt AC irrigation timer/controller. Use waterproof wire connectors for all electrical connections to protect against moisture and ensure long-term reliability.
  5. Hustuketa: After installation and before initial startup, always flush the system of dirt and debris manually using the valve's external bleed screw. This prevents clogs and ensures smooth operation.

Funtzionamendu-argibideak

The Rain Bird DASASVF100 valve offers both automatic and manual operation, along with flow control for precise watering.

  • Funtzionamendu automatikoa: The valve operates automatically when connected to a 24-volt AC irrigation timer/controller. Program your controller for desired watering schedules.
  • Manual Operation (Bleed Screw): For manual activation or flushing, turn the bleed screw counter-clockwise. Water will begin to flow through the zone. To stop flow, turn the bleed screw clockwise until it is hand-tight.
  • Fluxuaren kontrola: The top-mounted, easy-turn flow control knob allows you to adjust the water flow to the zone. Turn the knob to increase or decrease flow, optimizing sprinkler performance to avoid misting and ensure uniform coverage.

Mantentzea

Regular maintenance, particularly diaphragm replacement, can extend the life of your valve and ensure optimal performance. A Rain Bird diaphragm replacement kit (sold separately) typically includes a new diaphragm, screws, a spring, and a solenoid filter.

Diafragma ordezkatzea

  1. Shut Off Water: First, shut off the main water supply to your irrigation system to prevent water flow during maintenance.
  2. Deskonektatu kableak: Disconnect the wires leading to the solenoid. You may cut them or unscrew the wire nuts.
  3. Remove Solenoid: Turn the solenoid counter-clockwise to remove it from the valve body.
  4. Remove Solenoid Filter: Use a narrow slotted screwdriver to carefully remove the solenoid filter from the solenoid. Insert the new solenoid filter from the kit.
  5. Unscrew Bonnet: Unscrew the bonnet screws (typically 6) and carefully remove the bonnet (top cover) from the valve body.
  6. Replace Diaphragm and Spring: Remove the old diaphragm and spring. Note that the diaphragm is designed to fit in only one orientation. Replace them with the new diaphragm and spring from the kit.
  7. Reinstall Bonnet: Carefully reinstall the bonnet, ensuring the diaphragm is correctly seated. Hand-tighten the screws in a crisscross pattern to ensure even pressure.
  8. Reinstall Solenoid: Reinstall the solenoid by rotating it clockwise until it is hand-tight. Do not over-tighten with tools, as this can damage the valve.
  9. Kableak berriro konektatu: Connect the white wire from the solenoid to the common wire (usually white) using a waterproof wire nut. Connect the other solenoid wire to the power wire (usually colored) for that zone.
  10. Ura leheneratu: Turn the irrigation water supply back on.

Arazoak konpontzea

If you experience issues with your Rain Bird DASASVF100 valve, consider the following common problems and solutions:

  • Continuous Water Leakage: If water is continuously leaking from a zone even when the valve is not activated by the controller, first try flushing the valve by turning the bleed screw counter-clockwise. If the leakage persists, it may indicate damage to the valve's diaphragm. Refer to the Mantentzea section for instructions on replacing the diaphragm.
  • Ur-fluxurik ez: Ensure the main water supply to your irrigation system is turned on. Check the wiring connections to the solenoid and the irrigation controller for any disconnections or damage. Verify that the controller is programmed correctly and sending power to the specific zone.
  • Low Flow/Misting: Adjust the flow control knob on top of the valve to increase water flow. Ensure that your system's water pressure is within the recommended operating range (15 to 150 psi). For flows below 3 GPM or drip applications, ensure a 200 mesh filter is installed before the valve.
