Setup: Needle Insertion
Follow these steps to correctly insert a needle into your sewing machine using the Dritz tool:
- Turn off machine power: Always ensure the sewing machine power switch is off before handling the needle.
- Hold the inserter: Hold the blue grip of the tool.
- Insert needle into holder: Place the point of the needle into the holder section of the tool. Ensure the flat side of the needle shank faces the back of the inserter.
- Push needle into machine: Push the needle shank, held by the tool, into the machine as far as it will go.

- Position the threader: Hold the blue grip with the arrow and hook on top.
- Insert thread: Insert the thread horizontally into the Y-groove of the white pusher.
- Align with needle: Insert the needle shaft vertically into the Y-groove of the pusher.
- Slide and catch: Gently press and slide the pusher down the needle shaft until the inner wire catches the eye of the needle.
- Push to thread: Push the blue grip to insert the thread into the needle's eye.
- Remove pusher: Slowly remove the pusher from the needle.
- Pull thread through: Insert the hook of the tool into the loop of thread that has passed through the needle's eye and pull the remaining thread through.
