1. Sarrera

The D-Link AC1200 Wi-Fi Range Extender (DAP-1620) is designed to extend the coverage of your existing wireless network. The D-Link DAP-1620 can be set up using two primary methods: Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) or a web arakatzailea.

  1. Plug the DAP-1620 into a power outlet near your existing wireless router. Wait for the Power LED to turn solid green.

  1. Plug the DAP-1620 into a power outlet.
  2. Connect your computer or mobile device to the DAP-1620's default Wi-Fi network (e.g., "dlink-XXXX"). The network name and password can be found on the Wi-Fi Configuration Card.

  6. Once setup is complete, unplug the DAP-1620 and move it to your desired location. Verify the Signal Strength LEDs for optimal placement.

5.1. Wi-Fi Extender Mode

In this mode, the DAP-1620 connects wirelessly to your existing router and rebroadcasts the signal, extending its range. Devices connect to the extended network (either with the same or a different SSID) and access the internet through the extender.

To use the DAP-1620 as an Access Point, connect it to your router using an Ethernet cable via the LAN port. In this mode, the DAP-1620 creates a new Wi-Fi network, converting a wired connection into a wireless one. This is useful for areas with existing Ethernet wiring but no Wi-Fi coverage.
