The Apeks MTX-RC Scuba Regulator is engineered for reliable performance in diverse diving conditions, from temperate to extreme cold water environments. This regulator combines robust construction with advanced breathing technology to ensure a smooth and consistent air supply. It features freeze-resistant technology to prevent free-flows in cold temperatures and offers user-adjustable settings for personalized breathing comfort.

Key features include an innovative first stage design that protects against freezing, a double swivel hose for enhanced maneuverability, and a second stage with a comfortable mouthpiece, large purge button, and an ergonomic venturi lever. The second stage is also reversible to accommodate left or right-hand gas supply configurations.

2. Segurtasun informazioa

Garrantzitsua: Scuba diving is an activity that requires proper training and certification. This manual provides operational instructions for the Apeks MTX-RC Scuba Regulator and is not a substitute for professional dive training. Always follow safe diving practices and consult with a certified instructor or dive professional for any questions regarding safe diving procedures.

  • Lanbide Heziketa: Only use this equipment if you are a certified diver and have received proper instruction on its use.
  • Urpekaritza aurreko egiaztapenak: Always perform thorough pre-dive checks on all your equipment, including the regulator, before every dive.
  • Ohiko zerbitzua: Your regulator requires regular professional servicing by an authorized Apeks technician. Refer to the maintenance section for recommended service intervals.
  • Gasaren bateragarritasuna: Ensure the regulator is compatible with the gas mixture you intend to use.
  • Saihestu aldaketak: Do not attempt to modify or repair the regulator yourself. Unauthorized modifications can compromise safety and void the warranty.
  • Ingurumenarekiko sentsibilizazioa: Be aware of your surroundings and potential hazards during diving.

3. Produktuaren osagaiak

The Apeks MTX-RC Scuba Regulator consists of two primary components: the first stage eta bigarren stage.

3.1. Lehen Stage

Irudia: Apeks MTX-RC First Stage, showing the high-pressure and medium-pressure ports, and the connection point for the cylinder valve.

Lehenengo stage connects directly to the scuba cylinder valve. It reduces the high pressure from the cylinder to an intermediate pressure, which is then supplied to the second stage and other accessories (e.g., pressure gauge, BCD inflator). The MTX-RC first stage features a satin-plated brass body with heat-exchanging ribs for optimal thermal performance and 5 medium pressure ports (4 on a rotating turret) and 2 high pressure ports for flexible hose routing.

3.2. Bigarren Stage

Bigarren stage connects to the first stage via a medium-pressure hose. It further reduces the intermediate pressure to ambient pressure, allowing the diver to breathe comfortably underwater. The MTX-RC second stage includes a large purge button, a comfortable-bite mouthpiece, and an ergonomic venturi lever for adjusting breathing performance.

4. Konfigurazioa

Proper setup of your Apeks MTX-RC regulator is crucial for safe diving. Follow these steps carefully:

  1. Ikuskatu ekipoak: Before assembly, visually inspect all components for any signs of damage, wear, or contamination. Ensure O-rings are present and in good condition.
  2. Connect First Stage to Cylinder:
    • Ensure the cylinder valve is clean and free of debris.
    • For DIN connections: Screw the first stage directly into the cylinder valve until hand-tight. Do not overtighten.
    • For Yoke connections: Place the first stage yoke over the cylinder valve, ensuring the O-ring is properly seated. Tighten the yoke screw firmly by hand.
  3. Konektatu hodiak:
    • Attach the primary second stage hose to one of the medium-pressure ports on the first stage.
    • Attach the alternate air source (octopus) second stage hose to another medium-pressure port.
    • Connect the low-pressure inflator hose to your BCD.
    • Connect the high-pressure hose for your submersible pressure gauge (SPG) or dive computer transmitter to a high-pressure port.
    • Ensure all hose connections are hand-tight.
  4. Presio sistema: Slowly open the cylinder valve. Listen for any leaks. The SPG should show the cylinder pressure.
  5. Egiaztatu ihesak: Apply a small amount of soapy water to all connections and look for bubbles, indicating a leak. If a leak is detected, close the cylinder valve, depressurize the system, and re-tighten the connection or replace the O-ring if necessary.
  6. Funtzio proba: Breathe from both the primary and alternate second stages to ensure they deliver air smoothly. Depress the purge buttons to confirm they function correctly.

5. Funtzionamendu-argibideak

Once the regulator is properly set up and checked, follow these guidelines for operation:

5.1. Urpekaritza aurreko egiaztapenak

  • Confirm cylinder pressure is adequate for the planned dive.
  • Check for any visible damage or wear on hoses, mouthpiece, and housing.
  • Breathe from the primary second stage to ensure smooth air delivery.
  • Test the purge button on both primary and alternate second stages.
  • Verify the BCD inflator and dump valves are functioning.

5.2. Breathing Underwater

Breathe slowly and deeply from the second stage. The MTX-RC is designed for effortless breathing. If you experience any difficulty breathing or a continuous free-flow, refer to the Troubleshooting section.

5.3. Adjusting the Second Stage

The MTX-RC second stage features user controls to fine-tune breathing performance:

  • Venturi Lever: This lever controls the venturi effect, which assists in breathing. In the 'Dive' position (usually indicated by a '+' or 'D'), the venturi is active, providing easier breathing. In the 'Pre-Dive' position (usually indicated by a '-' or 'P'), the venturi is reduced, helping to prevent free-flow at the surface or when the regulator is out of your mouth. Adjust as needed for comfort and to prevent free-flow.
  • Inhalation Effort Control: Some MTX-RC models may feature an adjustable knob to fine-tune the inhalation effort. Turn clockwise to increase breathing resistance (firmer breath) and counter-clockwise to decrease resistance (easier breath). Adjust to your personal preference, ensuring it is not set too low to cause free-flow or too high to cause hard breathing.

6. Mantentzea

Proper maintenance extends the life of your regulator and ensures its safe operation. Always rinse your regulator thoroughly after each dive.

6.1. Post-Dive Care

  1. Garbiketa: Lehenengo s.arekintage still attached to the cylinder and pressurized, rinse the entire regulator thoroughly with fresh, clean water. Ensure the dust cap is securely in place on the first stage inlet if detached from the cylinder.
  2. Garbitu botoia: While rinsing the second stage, depress the purge button several times to flush out any salt or debris from inside the housing.
  3. Lehortzea: Allow the regulator to air dry completely in a cool, shaded area. Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources.
  4. Biltegiratzea: Store the regulator in a clean, dry place, away from direct sunlight, chemicals, and extreme temperatures. Avoid kinking hoses.

6.2. Zerbitzu profesionala

The Apeks MTX-RC regulator requires periodic professional servicing by an authorized Apeks service technician. Refer to your regulator's service schedule, typically every 100 dives or annually, whichever comes first. Regular servicing ensures optimal performance and safety.
