1. Place the car seat on the vehicle seat, ensuring it is level.
2. Route the vehicle's lap and shoulder belt through the designated rear-facing belt path.
3. Buckle the vehicle seat belt and tighten it securely. The car seat should not move more than 1 inch (2.5 cm) side-to-side or front-to-back at the belt path.
4. Adjust the recline position to ensure the child's head does not fall forward.

1. Position the car seat on the vehicle seat, facing forward.
