The Insta360 X4 is an advanced 8K waterproof 360 action camera designed to capture immersive footage in various environments. It features 8K 360 video recording, 4K wide-angle video, FlowState Stabilization, 360° Horizon Lock, and an Invisible Selfie Stick effect. This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your Insta360 X4 camera.

3.1. Battery and MicroSD Card Installation

Before first use, ensure the battery is properly installed and a microSD card is inserted.

1. Remove the battery by flicking the battery cover switch inwards with two fingers.
2. Insert the microSD card into the card compartment with the logo facing up.
3. Reinstall the battery. Ensure the orange indicator marks are not visible to maintain waterproof sealing.

1. Push the switch upwards to open the USB cover.

1. Align the markings on the lens guards with the tabs on the lower right side of the lens.
2. Rotate the lens guards clockwise to align the mark on the lens guards with the round hole in the camera's microphone to secure them.

3.4. Using the Thermo Grip Cover

For recording 8K video in still conditions, using the Thermo Grip Cover is recommended to reduce camera temperature and provide a comfortable shooting experience. When using in windy or active conditions, the cover is not needed.

3.5. Activating Your Camera

To activate your camera, you need to download the Insta360 app.

1. Ensure your phone is connected to the internet and both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled.
2. Open the Insta360 app and connect to the camera. The app will automatically detect nearby Insta360 cameras.
3. For the first connection, confirm the connection by tapping on the camera screen.
4. Follow the on-screen steps to complete activation.
