Always observe the following safety precautions when operating the dethatcher:

Follow these steps for assembling your VEVOR Tow Behind Dethatcher. It is recommended to have two people for easier assembly.

  1. Step 1: Install the Wheels and Handle
    Attach the wheel assemblies to the main frame using the provided bolts and nuts. Secure the lift handle assembly to the designated mounting points on the main frame. Ensure all connections are tight.
  2. Step 2: Secure the Steel Tines
    Insert the 20 spring steel tines into the slots on the main frame. Secure each tine with the appropriate screws and nuts from the hardware kit. Ensure the tines are facing the correct direction for dethatching.
  3. Step 3: Assemble the Connection Interface
    Connect the tow bar assembly to the front of the main frame using the provided bolts and pins. This forms the attachment point for your towing vehicle.
  4. Step 4: Connect All Components
    Verify that all previously assembled components are securely fastened. Double-check all bolts, nuts, and pins for tightness. The dethatcher is now ready for attachment to your ATV or mower.

Note: When installing, use two wrenches: one to hold the bolt head and the other to tighten the nut.

5. Funtzionamendua

5.1 Attaching to a Vehicle

The dethatcher features a universal pin connector interface (1.18" / 30mm spacing) for easy attachment to ATVs, UTVs, or lawn mowers. Ensure the tow bar is securely connected to your vehicle's hitch point using the appropriate pin.

5.2 Adjusting Tine Height

Use the integrated lift handle to raise or lower the tines. Lower the tines for dethatching and raise them for transport or when not in use. This protects the tines from unnecessary wear and prevents damage to surfaces.

5.3 Adding Weight for Increased Effectiveness

For more aggressive dethatching, additional weight can be placed on the dethatcher's tray. The plate with hooks supports up to 70 lbs (weights not included). Distribute weight evenly to maintain balance.

5.4 Dethatching Process

Drive your towing vehicle at a slow, consistent speed over the area to be dethatched. The 20 spring steel tines will rake through the grass, pulling up thatch and debris. Multiple passes may be required for heavily matted areas. Avoid sharp turns to prevent damage to the tines or turf.
