- Eragiketa aurreko ikuskapena: Before each use, visually inspect the trencher for any loose parts, damaged components, or fuel leaks. Ensure the chain is properly tensioned and all guards are in place.
5. Funtzionamendu-argibideak
Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of your trencher:

Figure 5.1: The trencher efficiently digging a trench in soil.
5.1 Motorra martxan jartzea
- Ensure the fuel valve is open and the choke is set to the appropriate position (cold start).
- Insert the key into the electric start ignition located between the handles.
- Turn the key to the 'START' position. Release the key once the engine starts.
- Allow the engine to warm up for a few minutes. Gradually move the choke to the 'RUN' position as the engine warms.
5.2 Adjusting Trench Depth
Use the Depth Control Handle to set the desired trench depth. The trencher can achieve a maximum depth of 24 inches. Adjust the handle to raise or lower the trenching chain assembly.

Figure 5.2: The Depth Control Handle (A) allows adjustment of excavation depth. Handle (B) adjusts armrest angles.
5.3 Lubaki-zulaketa
- Position the trencher at the starting point of your desired trench.
- Engage the trenching chain by slowly increasinazeleragailua sakatu.
- Gradually lower the chain into the ground using the depth control.
- Allow the trencher to pull itself forward at a steady pace. Do not force the machine. The chain speed is up to 574 ft/min.
- For straight trenches, maintain a consistent forward motion and steering.
- When stopping or repositioning, disengage the chain and engage the Anti-forward Control Handle to lock the wheels.

Figure 5.3: The Anti-forward Control Handle allows you to lock the wheels, preventing unwanted forward movement and making operation safer.
5.4 Motorra gelditzea
To stop the engine, reduce the throttle to idle, then turn the ignition key to the 'OFF' position.
6. Mantentzea
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of your trencher.
6.1 Motorraren mantentze-lanak
- Olio aldaketa: Aldatu motorraren olioa lehenengo 5 funtzionamendu orduen ondoren, eta gero 25 orduro edo urtero, lehenengo gertatzen dena edozein dela ere.
- Aire-iragazkia: Clean the air filter every 50 hours or more frequently in dusty conditions. Replace if damaged.
- Txinparta: Bujia urtero edo 100 orduro ikuskatu eta garbitu. Higatuta badago, ordezkatu.

Figure 6.1: The 420cc 15HP Ducar engine requires regular air filter cleaning (every 50 hours) as part of routine maintenance.
6.2 Chain and Belt Maintenance
- Katearen ikuskapena: Regularly inspect the trenching chain for worn or damaged teeth. Replace carbide alloy teeth as needed. Ensure the chain is properly tensioned.
- Gerriko ikuskapena: Check the Kevlar drive belts for wear, cracks, or fraying. Replace if necessary. Kevlar belts are designed for high strength and durability, reducing maintenance frequency compared to ordinary belts.

Figure 6.2: Professional Kevlar Belts are more wear-resistant than ordinary neoprene belts, reducing maintenance needs.
6.3 Garbiketa eta biltegiratze orokorra
- Clean the trencher thoroughly after each use, removing dirt, mud, and debris from the chain, frame, and engine.
- Store the trencher in a dry, protected area, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- For long-term storage, drain the fuel tank or use a fuel stabilizer. Remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place.
