This manual provides essential information for the proper use, maintenance, and care of your ABUS 55/40 Solid Brass Keyed Padlock. Designed for reliable security, this padlock features a solid brass body and a hardened steel shackle, offering excellent resistance against corrosion and forced entry. Please read this manual thoroughly to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your padlock.

3. Konfigurazioa
The ABUS 55/40 padlock is ready for immediate use out of the box. No assembly is required.
- Desblokeatzea: Sartu emandako giltzetako bat giltzarrapoaren gorputzaren behealdean dagoen giltza-zuloan. Biratu giltza erlojuaren orratzen noranzkoan katearen malgukia ireki arte.
- Locking (with key): Close the shackle by pushing it down into the padlock body. Turn the key counter-clockwise to secure the shackle. Remove the key.
- Locking (self-locking): For quick locking, simply push the shackle firmly down into the padlock body until it clicks into place. The padlock will be secured without needing to turn the key.

To operate your ABUS 55/40 padlock:
- Ensure the shackle is fully extended when unlocked.
- Position the padlock around the items or through the hasp you wish to secure.
- Push the shackle down firmly until it clicks, or insert the key and turn to lock.
- Always remove the key after locking to prevent loss or unauthorized access.

5. Mantentzea
Proper maintenance will extend the life and ensure the smooth operation of your padlock:
- Garbiketa: Periodically wipe the padlock body and shackle with a soft, dry cloth to remove dirt and grime. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp oihal bat erabil daiteke, eta ondoren ondo lehortu.
- Lubrifikazioa: If the key becomes difficult to turn or the shackle sticks, apply a small amount of graphite powder or a specialized lock lubricant into the keyway. Avoid using oil-based lubricants as they can attract dirt and gum up the mechanism over time.
- Biltegiratzea: When not in use, store the padlock in a dry environment to prevent moisture buildup, especially if exposed to harsh weather conditions.
6. Arazoak
If you encounter issues with your ABUS 55/40 padlock, consider the following common solutions:
- Key is difficult to insert or turn:
- Check for any debris or foreign objects in the keyway.
- Apply a small amount of graphite powder or lock lubricant into the keyway and gently work the key in and out.
- Shackle does not open or close smoothly:

- Check if the shackle is bent or obstructed.
- Apply lubricant to the shackle entry points and work the shackle up and down.
- Padlock feels stiff in cold weather:
