Setup and Fueling Instructions

Always use Zippo Premium Lighter Fluid or Ronsonol Lighter Fuel for optimal performance and safety. Do not use any other type of fuel.

Step 1: Remove the Lid and Burner

Carefully remove the lid from the hand warmer body. Then, gently pull off the catalytic burner unit from the top of the hand warmer and set it aside.

Step 2: Fill the Fuel Cup

Locate the provided fuel fill cup. It has two marked lines: the lower line indicates the amount of fuel for approximately 6 hours of heat, and the upper line indicates the amount for up to 12 hours. Slowly pour Zippo Premium Lighter Fluid into the fill cup until it reaches your desired level. Do not overfill past the upper line.

Step 3: Pour Fuel into Hand Warmer

Carefully pour the fuel from the fill cup into the absorbent cotton-like material inside the hand warmer body, through the opening where the burner sits. If the absorbent material is pushed down, gently fluff it up with a non-metallic tool (like a toothpick) to ensure it's at the top of the hand warmer body. Take care not to spill fuel on the exterior surfaces.

Step 4: Reattach the Burner and Wait

Replace the catalytic burner securely into its original position on the hand warmer body. It should fit snugly. If it feels loose, gently squeeze the sides of the burner together to improve the fit. After filling, wait approximately 2 minutes for the fuel to be fully distributed and absorbed by the catalytic burner. During this short wait, keep the hand warmer in a vertical position to prevent fuel from moving onto the burner, which could cause a flame upon ignition.

Operating Your Hand Warmer

Step 1: Ignite the Burner

With the lid still off, hold the base of the hand warmer with one hand. Use your other hand to apply a flame from a Zippo lighter, utility lighter, or match directly to the catalytic burner. Hold the flame to the burner for approximately 10 seconds. You will not see a visible flame coming from the burner itself, but you may observe a faint red glow on the burner, indicating successful ignition. In windy or extremely cold conditions, you may need to repeat this process until ignition is achieved and warmth is felt.

Step 2: Replace the Lid and Place in Bag

Once you feel warmth radiating from the hand warmer body, carefully replace the perforated lid. Then, immediately place the hand warmer inside the provided fleece warming bag. The hand warmer is designed to operate while inside this bag. Never hold the hand warmer directly against bare skin or expose bare skin to it, as it can become very hot and cause burns. You can then place the bagged hand warmer in a pocket or other suitable location to enjoy continuous warmth.

Flame Appears on Burner

• This indicates excess fuel on the catalytic burner. Gently blow out the flame.
• Ensure the hand warmer was kept vertical after filling and before lighting to prevent fuel from pooling on the burner.
• Wipe off any spilled fuel from the exterior of the hand warmer before attempting to light it again.
