The MS8217 requires three AAA batteries for operation. Batteries are not included with the device.

Always connect the black test lead to the COM jack. Connect the red test lead to the appropriate input jack based on the measurement type.

Turn the rotary switch to A~ (AC Current) or A- (DC Current). Garrantzitsua: Disconnect power to the circuit. Connect the multimeter in series with the circuit. Reapply power. The display will show the current reading. Be mindful of the maximum current rating for each input jack (mAµA vs. A).

Turn the rotary switch to the capacitance symbol (typically a capacitor icon). Ensure the capacitor is fully discharged before connecting the test leads. Connect the leads across the capacitor. The display will show the capacitance in Farads (F), microfarads (µF), or nanofarads (nF).

Turn the rotary switch to Temp. Connect the temperature probe (thermocouple) to the VΩHzTemp and COM jacks, observing polarity. Place the probe tip on or near the object whose temperature is to be measured. The display will show the temperature in Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F).
