Upon receiving your watch, carefully remove it from its packaging. Inspect the watch for any visible damage. Ensure all protective films are removed from the crystal and case back.

Initial Winding and Setting the Time/Date
Your Hamilton Khaki Aviation X-Wind Day Date Auto watch is equipped with a Swiss Automatic Movement. If the watch has stopped, it requires manual winding to initiate power reserve.
- Haizea: Unscrew the crown at the 3 o'clock position (Crown A) counter-clockwise until it springs out to position 1. Turn the crown clockwise approximately 20-30 times to build up an initial power reserve.
- Data eta eguna ezartzea: Pull Crown A out to position 2. Turn the crown clockwise to set the date and counter-clockwise to set the day. Adjust until the previous day/date is displayed.
- Ordua ezartzea: Pull Crown A out to position 3. Turn the crown to advance the hands clockwise past 12 o'clock until the day and date change. This indicates midnight. Continue turning to set the correct time, ensuring AM/PM is correctly set. Push Crown A back to position 1 and screw it in clockwise to ensure water resistance.

Using the Crosswind Calculator
The Khaki Aviation X-Wind features an innovative crosswind calculator, a crucial tool for pilots. This function uses two internal rotating bezels, controlled by the crowns at 2 o'clock (Crown B) and 4 o'clock (Crown C).
- Determine Wind Direction and Speed: Obtain the current wind direction and speed from aviation reports.
- Set Wind Direction: Unscrew Crown B (at 2 o'clock) and rotate the inner bezel to align the wind direction (in degrees) with the "TRUE" indicator on the dial.
- Set Wind Speed: Unscrew Crown C (at 4 o'clock) and rotate the inner bezel to align the wind speed (in knots or other units) with the "AIR SPEED" indicator.
- Read Crosswind Component: The crosswind component (in degrees) can then be read directly from the scale where the wind direction intersects with the "FOR CROSS WIND" scale.
