Acctim Radio Controlled clocks differ from standard quartz clocks. They automatically synchronize with the MSF radio signal from Anthorn, Cumbria. Insert the batteries, and the hands should move to the 12 o'clock position to receive the signal. It may take a few minutes or overnight to set automatically.
Interference from metal frames, other electronics, or weak batteries can block the signal. Try placing the clock near a window facing towards Anthorn or leave it overnight when interference is lower. Ensure the battery is fresh and alkaline.
It is recommended to use high-quality alkaline batteries (typically AA) and replace them annually. Do not use rechargeable batteries as their voltage may be too low for the movement.
If your clock has Smartlite technology, ensure the sensor switch is set to ON. The display will automatically illuminate in dark environments for easy viewing and turn off in bright light to save battery.
