Apera Instruments support FAQ

Marka honen eskuliburuei, erregistroari eta laguntzari buruzko ohiko galderak.

  • How often should I calibrate my Apera pH meter?

For high-accuracy measurements (≤ ±0.02 pH), calibrate the electrode before every test session. For general use (≥ ±0.1 pH), calibration every 1-2 weeks is usually sufficient. Calibration is also required if the electrode has not been used for a long time or after measuring strong acids/bases.

  • How should I store the pH electrode when not in use?

Add a few drops of 3M KCL soaking solution (SKU: AI1107) to the protective cap and close it tight. Never store the electrode in distilled, RO, or deionized water, as this will damage the sensor sensitivity.

  • What do I do if I see white crystals around the probe cap?

White crystals are normal and indicate the presence of the 3M KCL storage solution, which crystallizes over time. These are not poisonous; simply rinse them off with water before using the tester.

  • Why is my pH reading unstable or slow to stabilize?

Unstable readings often occur when measuring pure water (distilled/RO) due to low conductivity. Adding a specialized ionic strength adjuster or using a specialized electrode (like LabSen 803) helps. Also, ensure the glass bulb is clean and hydrated in 3M KCL solution.

  • How do I clean the electrode sensor?

For general contaminants, rinse with distilled water. for oil/fat deposits, use warm water with dish soap (soak for 5-10 mins). For protein buildup, use the Apera Electrode Cleaning Solution (AI1166). Always rehydrate in KCL solution for 12 hours after rigorous cleaning.
